Steamboat Geyser
Yellowstone National Park's Norris Geyser Basin
Steamboat Geyser is the world's tallest currently active geyser. Unlike Old Faithful Steamboat does not erupt on a predictable schedule. The geyser was dormant from1911 to 1961. After the geyser became active, the number of eruptions and the heights of the steam vary each year. This picture was taken on September 11, 2021. Steamboat had a major eruption on this day. That was the first one in 65 days. Sometimes just get lucky.
